PHILADELPHIA - Barbara Solit Bodenheimer, 64, who, with her husband, James, founded Egotrips, a leading trucking and transportation services provider for the touring industry, died after a battle with cancer at her home on Aug. 10. The Bodenheimers founded
Egotrips in the early 1970s. Their longtime music artist client list includes,
among many others, Elton John and Neil Diamond. Until 2010, Barbara
Bodenheimer served as chief financial officer.
Barbara Bodenheimer was also
an executive and a founder of Friends of Rittenhouse Square, a volunteer group
dedicated to preserving the character of that area in center city Philadelphia.
She served as the group's chief financial officer for many years.
A Philadelphia native, Bodenheimer
graduated from Pennsylvania State University in 1969 with a degree in
psychology.
Barbara Bodenheimer is
survived by her husband, James; twin daughters Alexis and Emily; a son, John;
and granddaughter, Zoe.
A funeral service attended by
nearly 400 family members and friends was held Aug. 15 at Congregation Rodeph
Shalom in Philadelphia's center city, followed by a private interment.
