"Book of Mormon," "War Horse" Garner Tony Sound Design Honors
NEW YORK - The American Theatre Wing announced the winners
for the 2011 Tony Awards, which were televised live on CBS June 12. The winner
for Best Sound Design of a Play was Christopher Shutt for War Horse; nominees included Acme Sound Partners and Cricket
S. Myers for Bengal Tiger at the Baghdad Zoo; Simon Baker for Brief Encounter; and Ian Dickinson/Autograph for Jerusalem. The winner for Best Sound Design of a Musical was Brian
Ronan for The Book of Mormon;
nominees included Peter Hylenski for The Scottsboro Boys; Steve
Canyon Kennedy for Catch Me If You Can; and Brian Ronan for Anything Goes.
