The hall, decorated with James Thornhill's baroque frescoes, is steeped in history - it is where England mourned Lord Horatio Nelson after he was mortally wounded in one of the great victories of the British Royal Navy, the Battle of Trafalgar, in 1805.
The hall still hosts many important events requiring high quality sound reinforcement. The new system was first used at a commemoration of the Battle of Trafalgar last fall.
