Musicians Institute Scholarship Offered by Hosa Technology Now in Second Year

Garcia was chosen among other incoming MI students who had submitted a 500-word essay on why they should be considered for the scholarship, which defrays the cost of tuition by $1,000 and also provides a $250 voucher toward the purchase of Hosa Technology gear. The scholarship program is now in its second year.

Nebraska Memorial Stadium Installs Meyer Sound SB-3F SpeakersLINCOLN, NE — Wrightson, Johnson, Haddon, & Williams audio consultant Mark Graham designed an upgrade for 87,000-capacity Memorial Stadium at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln here that includes 16 Meyer Sound SB-3F sound field synthesis loudspeakers. All Meyer Sound components were supplied by BNY Productions of Sioux City, Iowa, with installation by Lincoln-based Electronic Contracting Company.

Sennheiser Encourages Mic Owners to Petition to the FCC by Nov. 12 on Planned UHF Spectrum Auction

OLD LYME, CT — Sennheiser, based in Wedemark, Germany with a U.S. subsidiary here, has petitioned the FCC regarding the UHF spectrum auction now planned for 2016, and is encouraging other mic owners to do the same. The FCC has set Nov. 12, 2014 as the initial reply deadline for its Incentive Auction Ruling on the spectrum repacking measures that are expected to take place in early 2016.

Norwegian Academy of Music Equipped with Soundcraft Vi3000, JBL VerTec Line Arrays, Other Harman GearOSLO, Norway — Norwegian distributor, LydRommet, has had a busy summer, designing and setting up an extensively upgraded light, audio and AV system at two concert halls used by the Norwegian Academy of Music in Oslo. LydRommet provided Soundcraft Vi3000 digital mixing consoles and JBL VerTec line arrays from Harman for each performance space. The systems are powered by nine Crown I-Tech amplifiers and monitored and processed by JBL HiQnet Performance Manager software.
