Toyota Center Gets World’s First L-Acoustics K2 Arena System

New L-Acoustics K2 speakers in Toyota CenterHOUSTON, TX — Toyota Center, the arena home of the NBA Houston Rockets, recently installed a new L-Acoustics K2 sound system – the first K2 system permanently installed in a major professional sports arena. The cap to a two-year AV makeover that included new HD video scoreboards, the sound system, designed in Soundvision by project consultant Wrightson, Johnson, Haddon & Williams and AV systems integrator LD Systems with support from the L- Acoustics S US applications team, primarily comprises 72 K2 enclosures flown in six arrays.

Excursions like this obviously require sound systems that are powerful yet lightweight and easy to rig, which prompted Cincinnati-based sound reinforcement provider Loud and Clear, Inc. to fit the MSC Divina from bow to stern with K2 and other sound system elements from L-Acoustics.

Renkus-Heinz upgrade for Shawnee churchSHAWNEE, OK — Founded in 1892, Shawnee's First Baptist Church was rebuilt in the 1930's after being damaged by a tornado. The historic building has been well maintained over the years, but its aging sound system had not been so fortunate. Church officials and congregation members alike were increasingly frustrated by intelligibility issues in the main sanctuary, and inconsistent coverage in the balcony and under balcony areas. The church turned to Edmond, OK-based AVL Systems Design, who recommended Renkus-Heinz' steered-beam technology.

EAW Upgrade for Home of Carolina Panthers

EAW upgrade for the Carolina PanthersCHARLOTTE, NC — The Bank America Stadium, home to the Carolina Panthers NFL franchise, recently underwent a complete sound reinforcement system overhaul featuring EAW loudspeakers. Installed in 1996, the original point-source, end zone system was upgraded to more powerful loudspeakers in 2007, but seven years later the fans expect more. Stadium owners brought in a team from Wrightson, Johnson, Haddon & Williams, Inc.’s (WJHW) Denver office to design a new, distributed system that would better cover all of the seats and provide the high quality audio that fans expect.

The solution makes use of Ashly 25V Amps DENISON, TX – Batts Audio, Video & Lighting helped Denison High School here meet a tight budget by deviating from a planned installation of 70-volt announcement/bell system and installing a distributed amplifier system running a 25-volt announcement/bell system instead. The setup includes eight 8-channel Ashly Audio ne8250.25pe Network Amplifiers with built-in Protea DSP processing.
