SHROPSHIRE, U.K. - Audient named Chris Wright, based here, as the company's new U.K. market manager. Wright (pictured here, left), who worked for years as an audio consultant and monitor engineer, returns to audio after a stint in the IT field. Audient also promoted Andy Allen (pictured below) to marketing manager and noted that Gareth Williams and Luke Baldry have left the company.

Alex Clare Performas at U.K.'s V Festival with Soundcraft Vi6 for FOH, MonitorsCHELMSFORD, U.K. – After using a pair of Harman's Soundcraft Vi6 digital consoles for the recent V Festival, The Old Lion Touring Company planned to provide a Vi3000 and Vi6 console for a 10-week tour with Alex Clare. According to Alex Clare’s FOH engineer Harry Devenish, Clare’s performances showcase a human approach to electronic music. “Alex’s performances fuse the weight and power of electronic records with live elements,” he said. “A lot of that is due to the bass setup—the bass guitars trigger a synth and a sub, creating a heavy, dynamic sound on stage.”

"Ashly's Protea processing worked well with Key Digital's user interface technology and allowed us to give the staff an iPad that could control the new A/V system," noted Simon Nathan, APS president. "In all, it was a straightforward design and an easy installation, and the client is happy with its sound and performance."

Photo by Louis AustinBARCELONA, Spain — For this year's Primavera music festival in Spain, an event that draws huge crowds to the Parc del Fòrum public park grounds here, Twin Cam Audio specified L-Acoustics sound systems for five of the festival's seven stages. Twin Cam's technical director, Juan Cid, worked closely with L-Acoustics touring application engineer Frédéric Bailly to optimize the sound for the five stages. Twin Cam also used the event to debut its recently-acquired K2 components.
