Parsons Audio Expo Set for Nov. 6; Demos Planned by Yamaha, Other Manufacturers

DEDHAM, MA - Yamaha Commercial Audio Systems will be among the exhibitors at the Parsons Audio Expo on November 6. The event will take place at the Dedham Holiday Inn on Thursday, November 6. Select audio manufacturers will hold demonstrations and presentations from 10 am to 7 pm, with exhibits open from noon to 6 pm. This is the 28th consecutive year where Yamaha Commercial Audio Systems Inc. has supported the event.

FCC to Delay 600 MHz Wireless Auction Until 2016

Federal Communications CommissionWASHINGTON DC — On October 24, 2014, in an official FCC blog posting by Gary Epstein, chair of the organization’s Incentive Auction Task Force (the group coordinating the commission's next frequency spectrum auction, including the 600 MHz band), he indicated that the sale, slated for mid-2015, would be delayed until at least early 2016.

University of Louisville Football Stadium Equipped with Meyer Sound LEO SystemLOUISVILLE, KY — To upgrade the visitor experience for 55,000-capacity Papa John’s Cardinal Stadium at University of Louisville here, longtime (and recently retired) stadium manager K.C. Scull opted for Meyer Sound’s LEO linear large-scale sound reinforcement system with the 1100-LFC low-frequency control element and SB-3F sound field synthesis loudspeakers. Dallas-based WJHW designed the system, installed in two phases by Parsons Electric and Pro Sound & Video.

SYDNEY, Australia — St Andrew's Cathedral here upgraded its audio system with an assist from Wizard Projects and Technical Audio Group (TAG). They installed a 140-element Martin Audio OmniLine, meeting the goal of having the system operational in time for a visit by Prince William, Kate Middleton and Prince George as part of their tour of Australia and New Zealand earlier this year.

Cargo, Concert Venue at Reno’s Whitney Peak Hotel, Installs EAW SystemRENO, NV – The Whitney Peak Hotel may be the only non-smoking, non-gambling hotel in town, but that’s not the only way that its owners are striving to set it apart from its competitors. In a bid to draw big-name artists to the concert venue, Cargo, they installed a sound system centering on EAW KF740 line arrays. Dan Bishop, production manager at Cargo, designed the system and oversaw the installation by Moon Lighting and Sound.
